Reception Classes celebrate Eid festival with gifts from BRAX and ZXY

With the aim of breaking the cycle of poverty, JAAGO Foundation provides free English education for underprivileged children across Bangladesh. In partnership BRAX and ZXY, through a collaboration with 7 Streams, are sponsoring 41 reception school children and their teacher.

As part of this programme we gifted educational toys, for the religious festival of Eid, to both the Reception and Kindergarten classes at each of the 12 JAAGO schools across Bangladesh. Eid is a worldwide celebration for Muslims offering time for reflection and starting afresh. It is an occasion that exudes love, peace and harmony and encourages one to be giving to those less fortunate. Eid is also a chance to multiply good deeds by bringing happiness and pleasure to the hearts of others, uniting people from all walks of life.

Speaking about the gift giving, Sal Lalji, Director of our partner foundation, 7 Streams, said: “We know that children learn by playing together, encouraging the development of essential skills such as sharing, relationship building and teamwork. Similarly, educational toys encourage creativity, thinking outside the box, and problem-solving. As we distributed the Eid gifts it was wonderful to see the classroom brimming with smiling faces and to hear the excited laughter.

The kids played with their new instruments, sang English nursery rhymes and competed to finish their puzzles. It was a real delight to see. Since starting this project the children have already grown so much and are developing day-by-day. Their teacher Romana provides the students with a perfect mix of laughter and encouragement. I’m so glad we have this partnership. It will no-doubt provide a vital stepping stone for these children to reach their potential.”
