BRAX supports Charity Sale for the Childaid Network Foundation

In the summer of 2017, BRAX received an enquiry from the Childaid Network Foundation. The organisation asked whether our company would like to support a donation event with a donation of clothing for a Childaid project in Assam/Northern India. It was immediately clear to us: We are happy to help!

As a result of our decision, BRAX already made a major donation of clothing in the autumn to the 7th Charity Sale for the Childaid Network Foundation. A host of volunteer helpers and around 90 guests in Königsstein, Hessen, celebrated the foundation’s 10th anniversary with a successful event.

Proceeds amounting to approximately 6,500€ were generated by the donation event and they were used to finance the living expenses of former street children in India. The Childaid Network organisation promotes the education of needy children and young people with the aim of eliminating poverty and creating perspectives for the future.

Childaid aims to make long-term, sustainable improvements in their living situation. This was precisely the reason why we were delighted to take part in the Charity Sale for Childaid by providing a donation of clothing and making a positive contribution. The proceeds generated by the donation event enable Childaid to pay the living expenses of 15 former street children in the town of Guwahati in Assam for one year.

The Childaid children’s homes already offer more than 200 children the opportunity of growing up in a loving and child-friendly environment with regular, healthy meals and the opportunity to attend school. Orphans over the age of 18 receive support to enable them to stand on their own feet and meet the challenges of life independently. This involves support with education, help in taking a degree or assistance in finding a job.

The programme also includes therapy for traumatised individuals and help for children and young people with physical and mental disabilities. This enables them to recover from their difficult life on the street and then start a new and better future.
