CSR-Club OWL: Sustainability Professionals at BRAX

The CSR Competence Centre OWL and the Corporate Responsibility Team at BRAX were hosts to the “CSR Club OWL” in June 2017. The objective of the launch meeting held at the headquarters of the fashion label in Herford was personal communication and specialist exchange of ideas, and networking between sustainability professionals from different companies and sectors in East Westphalia-Lippe (OWL).

This proved to be a very successful event in a relaxed atmosphere where colleagues and CSR managers from different companies engaged in dialogue, presented practical experiences and worked together to identify new solutions and approaches. “The participants in the CSR Club OWL are confronted with the challenge and the opportunity to implement sustainability successfully in global supply chains, but most importantly to establish these aspects within their company,” emphasised host and co-initiator of the regional specialist forum, Alissa Sekulic, Head of Corporate Responsibility at BRAX. She gave an introductory presentation outlining results to date and future targets in sustainability management at BRAX. This provided vivid examples as the basis for the subsequent round-table discussion. “We want to network CSR and sustainability managers of companies strategically in OWL,” commented Wolfgang Keck, who played a role in hosting the launch event of the CSR Club OWL on behalf of the CSR Competence Centre OWL.

The CSR Competence Centre OWL intends to support the CSR Club OWL in an organisational and moderating role in the future as well. The focus of this work will be on current topics and exchange of experience in relation to the continuous and advanced development of CSR and sustainability topics of the company in OWL. The plan is for future meetings of the “CSR Club OWL” to take place every six months.
